Dhaka: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today called on party leaders and workers to focus on rebuilding the nation. Addressing a gathering in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Rahman emphasized collective efforts to improve the country. He encouraged supporters to contribute through small actions, such as cleaning up waste, to foster national development.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rahman requested prayers for his mother, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and expressed wishes for the well-being of all party members. This visit marks Rahman's first appearance at the Nayapaltan office in 19 years, where he arrived at 4:00 PM amidst a large crowd of activists. After navigating through the supporters, he addressed them from the second-floor balcony, marking his first public interaction since returning to the country.
Tarique Rahman was welcomed at the BNP central office by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Treasurer M. Rashiduzzaman Millat. Also present were BNP Chairperson's Advisor Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary General Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, and other central leaders from various BNP wings and associate organizations.
The occasion was marked by colorful decorations, and thousands of activists gathered in the Nayapaltan area, demonstrating significant excitement. The Chairperson's Security Force (CSF) ensured security around the building, while law enforcement agencies maintained vigilance over the area. A RAB dog squad was also deployed to secure the central office and its surroundings.
After years in exile, Tarique Rahman returned to the country and resumed his official duties at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan yesterday. His visit to the central office today was focused on engaging in organizational activities.
