Cambodian Tug of War Federation is organising 2024 National Tug of War Championship and the 1st Idol Award from May 10 to 12 in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.
The tournament aims to further promote the Tug of War sport, inspire a person to play a sport for life, and to congratulate the 9th anniversary of Tug of War’s inscription as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2015.
It is also an opportunity to sharpen the capacity of Cambodian athletes for the SEA Games 2025 in Thailand.
The 2024 National Tug of War Championship and the 1st Idol Award attract the participation of 312 athletes, coaches and sport delegates from 12 associations.
They are associations from the Ministry of Interior, Naval Command, and the provinces of Kampong Chhnang, Kampot, Kampong Cham, Kep, Kandal, Preah Sihanouk, Kampong Speu, Svay Rieng, Battambang, and Thbong Khmum.
There are 8 disciplines including men’s 8 vs. 8, women’s 8 vs. 8, men’s 4 vs. 4, men’s 1 vs. 1, and women’s 1 vs. 1. Other two disciplines for
the 1st Idol Award are men’s 8 vs. 8 and women’s 8 vs. 8.
