Cambodia will assume the role of Country Coordinator for the ASEAN-U.S. dialogue relations under a three-year cycle (2024-2027) after the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and related meetings in late July. The information was shared by H.E. Kung Phoak, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) at a discussion forum on "Cambodia's Foreign Policy in the ASEAN Context," held at the MFAIC on June 12. Cambodia will also end her ASEAN coordinatorship for the ASEAN-Russia dialogue relations before taking over the new role from Indonesia, the current Country Coordinator for the ASEAN-U.S. dialogue relations, he added. Cambodia will use the new role to further contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations between ASEAN and the U.S., underlined H.E. Kung Phoak. 'There commitments and expectations on both sides,' he said. 'All we need to do is to discuss to find a space where we can work together more for ourselves, especially related to econom ic ties.'
