Osaka: The Cambodia Pavilion has earned international recognition by winning the Prestigious Bronze Award for Exhibition Design in Module Pavilions (Type B + X) category during the official BIE Day Ceremony of Prizes and Award at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the Ministry of Commerce said in a news release on Oct. 13. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was organised by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) with the purpose of announcing and presenting awards to participating countries and international organisations. A total of 49 awards were presented this year - including 45 awards (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) and 4 Special Sustainability Awards. The World Expo brought together 165 participating countries and international organisations. The evaluation process for the awards was conducted by the BIE with high standards of rigor and transparency. Each participating country was required to submit detailed documentation for evaluation, including the Theme Statement, Design Concept, Arch itecture, Exterior Design, Content, and Thematic Development. Throughout the six-month duration of the Expo, Cambodia's pavilion featured 'Koh Ker Temple' as its central design concept, reflecting the country's deep commitment to preserving cultural heritage, architectural masterpieces, and the rich artistic legacy of ancient Khmer civilisation. The World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai officially concluded on Oct. 13, 2025, under the presidency of His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino. During the closing ceremony, the BIE flag was ceremoniously handed over to Serbia, host of the upcoming Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, and to Japan, which will host the International Horticultural Expo 2027 Yokohama.
