Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended warm greetings to all Bangladeshis, both within the country and abroad, as they welcome the English New Year 2026. In his message, he highlighted the New Year as a symbol of fresh dreams, hopes, and possibilities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Yunus expressed that the arrival of the New Year generates excitement and inspires new energy and motivation to move past sorrows and embrace a promising future. He emphasized the significance of the New Year in the context of national life, especially following the July mass uprising.
Professor Yunus underscored the importance of the ongoing journey towards democratic transition, which includes plans for a national election and a referendum on the July Charter implementation. He conveyed hope that these efforts will advance the nation's democratic progress by countering any opposition.
The chief adviser also expressed his aspiration for a democratic Bangladesh where people unite in their commitment to national welfare. He encouraged everyone to confront challenges collectively and work towards creating a society free of discrimination, grounded in equality and justice.
In his New Year message, Professor Yunus called for strengthening the bonds of harmony, friendliness, and brotherhood, wishing for happiness, peace, and prosperity in the lives of all Bangladeshis in the coming year.
