China has invested some US$1.3 billion in Cambodia in the first semester of this year, accounted for 42 percent of the total investment capital and was ranked second in the country. The figures were released by H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), when he co-presided over with H.E. WANG Wenbin, newly appointed Ambassador of China to Cambodia a ceremony to unveil the Sign Post of 'Xi Jinping Boulevard' this morning. H.E. SUN Chanthol continued that China was ranked first for providing Cambodia with concessional loans and grant aids with a total of over US$3 billion for the construction of roads with a total length of 4,000 kilometres, 16 major bridges with a total length of 14,000 metres, and many other physical infrastructures. H.E. SUN Chanthol attributed Cambodia's fast development in all sectors to peace, and national and territorial territory, and took the opportunity to thank China and her people for their assistance t o Cambodia's socio-economic development so far.
