DPM Prak Sokhonn Briefs Foreign Ambassadors and UN Representatives on Latest Developments of Cambodia-Thailand Border Clashes

Phnom penh: H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, conducted a briefing on the recent developments of the Cambodian-Thai border conflict for 42 members of the diplomatic corps and 22 representatives of United Nations Agencies accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the briefing took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on August 21. During the meeting, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Cambodia's commitment to maintaining the ceasefire agreement with Thailand, which was reached on July 28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The Cambodian top diplomat also reported on the outcomes of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand, which was held on August 7 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Additionally, H.E. Prak Sokhonn informed the meeting about the landmine situation in Cambodia, particularly along the Cambodian-Thai border area, and reiterated Cambodia's adherence to the Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines (Ottawa Convention). He also briefly mentioned the upcoming field visit to Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces, scheduled for August 22-23.
