Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health and AP-HP International (Assistance Publique – H´pitaux de Paris) are conducting a joint feasibility study for the establishment of the Cambodia-France Friendship University Hospital in Cambodia. An AP-HP International delegation has been on a visit to Cambodia and was received earlier this week by H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this third mission by the AP-HP delegation focused on consultations regarding technical engineering aspects, medical equipment, budget planning, project management, and human resource training. H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny expressed appreciation to the AP-HP team and VINCI Construction Grands Projets for their dedicated efforts in developing the project.
Mr. Marc Boyche, Project Director at AP-HP, thanked Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra and French Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Jacques Pellet for their support and leadership in advancing the ambitious project. The initiative is supported by the French Ministry of Economy through the French Embassy in Cambodia.
On behalf of the Ministry of Health, H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny reaffirmed his in-principle support for the progress made and the future plans for the hospital, which would be the first university hospital of its kind in Cambodia. It is expected to meet international standards in both capability and quality.
The university hospital will serve as a new symbol of the enduring friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and France, he said, adding that France has long played a crucial role in supporting and developing Cambodia’s medical sector. According to the feasibility study, the hospital will offer general medical services along with specialised care, including advanced emergency treatment, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, and organ transplantation, all in line with Cambodian laws.
