The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication and the GIZ Cambodia have signed technical assistance project which contributes to the development of human resources, various technologies related to digital at the Digital Transformation Centre Cambodia.
The project was inked here on Aug. 28 between H.E. Khov Makara, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and Chairman of Board of Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology and Mr. Gunter Riethmacher, Country Director of GIZ Cambodia under the presidency of H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications.
The project was supported by GIZ Cambodia in the amount of 1.4 million euros (approximately US$1.5 million) for two years, and there are plans to raise funds from other sources to contribute to the implementation of various action projects.
Under the project, GIZ will provide human resources to assist and support technology and set up a communication network to support the digital revolution between Cambodian and German experts.
“The activities implemented in the centre will contribute to the implementation of the Pentagon Strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the seventh mandate,” H.E. Khov Makara said.
Mr. Gunter Riethmacher said that assisting to establish the Digital Transformation Centre Cambodia is a new programme in Cambodia by the German government, as it is a global programme, so the benefit of the global programme is that experiences from other countries are given to the implementation of activities in Cambodia and the experience in Cambodia will also be shared to other countries.
H.E. Chea Vandeth highly appreciated GIZ for participating in the implementation of the Royal Government of Cambodia's initiatives in the digital revolution, especially the implementation of the Digital Government Policy 2022-2035.
