Malaysia Book Place In Final With Match To Spare

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) — Malaysia cruised into the final of the SEA Games women’s hockey competition with a match to spare after scoring a convincing 3-0 win over Thailand in their group match at the National Hockey Stadium, here today.

Malaysia who are unbeaten in three matches have nine points with one more match to play against Myanmar tomorrow.

In tonight’s match, Thailand were able to hold Malaysia to a scoreless first half but the Malaysian girls turned on the heat in the second half with goals from Hanis Onn, Nuraini Rashid and Surizan Awang Noh.

Malaysia’s opponent in the final will be a toss between Thailand and Singapore who face each other tomorrow.
