Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly encouraged high school students to maintain personal integrity while contributing to organizations they are joining, as it will be beneficial to their future endeavors.The minister's remarks were conveyed to participants of the 2023 Intra-school Organisation of Students Forum (Foransis) agenda organized by the student council of private Labschool Rawamangun Senior High School in East Jakarta on Friday. "We should have intelligence, energy to resolve issues, and integrity while working. However, integrity is the most important principle among the three," Laoly noted as per the statement on Saturday. "As success comes from perseverance and resilience, when we are experiencing failure, we should rise and never surrender," he emphasized. The minister remarked that high school students, especially those in the student council, should have the capabilities to compete in the future. "Capability to compete is essential because a leader should have the ability to make decisions quickly," Laoly stated. t the 2023 Foransis agenda, students were invited to join a focus group discussion to hone their skills in resolving individual issues in the organization. Representatives of student councils from 18 schools participated in the event. part from becoming a platform to discuss various issues on school and education, particularly those relevant to senior high school students, the agenda becomes a bridge to enhance collaboration and improve the quality of student councils. During the forum, students were invited to present their ideas, suggestions, and criticisms of the school policy. Students can also speak up about issues they are facing and seek solutions together. The agenda also becomes a medium for students to hone their public speaking skills to preside over an organizational meeting.
