The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) has warned the public of possible natural disasters, especially strong winds and high waves at coastal areas between July 19-25, 2023.
MOWRAM emphasised the alert in its announcement on new weather forecast made public this morning, adding that rainfall from low to heavy, accompanied by thunder, lighting and gusts, has been forecasted across the country during the said period.
For the temperature, it pointed out, it would vary between 23 and 32 degrees Celsius for central lowland areas, from 22 to 31 degrees Celsius for highland areas, and between 24 and 34 degrees Celsius in coastal areas.
Recently, the Preah Sihanouk provincial administration advised the suspension of the transport of tourists to the islands and of fishing activities due to bad weather, from July 15 to 20.
On Monday, the provincial administration has sent six ferries to fetch 708 national and international tourists, including 347 women and 15 children, stranded on Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samleum islands due to rain, storms and high wave, to come ashore safely.
