Pakistan Speaker and Indian Foreign Minister Exchange Greetings at Khaleda Zia’s Funeral


Dhaka: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, today exchanged greetings with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar ahead of the funeral program for former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. The meeting took place as both leaders arrived in Dhaka to represent their respective governments at the state funeral of the three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sadiq and Jaishankar, prior to the namaj-e-janaza, conveyed their condolence messages to BNP Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman. This gesture was a reflection of their countries’ respect for the veteran Bangladeshi leader, marking a rare moment of diplomatic courtesy between the neighboring nations. Both leaders’ presence underscored the significant impact Khaleda Zia had on regional politics and her enduring legacy as a respected figure in South Asian leadership.
