Plum harvest begins in Na Tau

Farmers in Na Tau commune, Dien Bien Phu city, of the northwestern province of Dien Bien have entered the 2024 harvest season from the beginning of May. With some 22 ha under plum, Na Tau commune is the largest concentrated growing area of this kind of fruit in Dien Bien province. This year, the plum output is forecasted to be lower than usual due to unfavourable weather conditions, however the prices of plums at the beginning of the season is nearly double those of previous years, thus locals’ incomes are expected to be ensured stable.
