Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a working session in Hanoi on on August 13 with ministries, sectors and localities to accelerate the completion of the 500kV Circuit-3 Quang Trach-Pho Noi power transmission line project. Spaning from Quang Trach in the central province of Quang Binh to Pho Noi in northern Hung Yen rovince, the project has a total length of about 519km, and its total investment is over 22.3 trillion VND (876 million USD). The completion of the transmission line will help increase power transmission capacity from the central region to the North from 2,200MW to 5,000MW, something which is critical to solving the problem of shortages in the north during peak summer months.
