President of the Office of Supreme Public Prosecutor Xaysana Khothphouthone received in Vientiane a courtesy call from Deputy Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Julien Garsany on Jun 21.
Appreciating Julien Garsany’s working visit to Laos, the host noted that the visit constituted a significant contribution to strengthening the relations, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Lao PDR, the Supreme People’s Prosecutor Office, in particular, and UNODC, and a foundation for strong and comprehensive cooperation between the Lao PDR and UNODC over years to come.
The host also appreciated the achievements in cooperation between the Office of Supreme Public Prosecutor Office and UNODC, especially the collection of data in Luang Prabang and Champassak to be used in drafting a strategic plan on criminal justice work of the Lao PDR which will be used as a reference for cooperation between the Lao PDR and UNODC in the future.
Expressing thanks for a warm welcome from the President of the Office of Supreme Public Prosecutor, Mr. Julian Garsany informed the host about the objective of his visit to Laos as well as the results of his meetings with relevant departments under the Office of Supreme Public Prosecutor.
