Leading Singaporean firm Temasek Holdings sees Cambodia as key investment destination in ASEAN and is willing to expand its investment in the Kingdom on digital technology, renewable energy and other important sectors. The remarks were made by Mr. Lim Boon Heng, Chairman of Temasek Holdings, while paying a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet on Jan. 17, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos, Switzerland. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the Singapore-based firm, underlining that the policy of the 7th-mandate Royal Government is to create a strong supportive environment for sustainable investment in all sectors in Cambodia, and the Kingdom is open to investors from all countries. In addition, the Royal Government of Cambodia has introduced new legal frameworks, norms and mechanisms to boost, protect and encourage foreign investors, he said, mentioning the investment in the establishment of special economic zones and indust rial parks, focusing on the specific industry of each country. Temasek Holdings, a global investment company owned by the Government of Singapore, has been doing business in many countries in the region and the world, focusing on finance, transportation, telecommunications, technology and advertising, and real estate. Nguyen Van Son, director general of Victoria Tourism Company which organised the trip together with Malaysia's Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA), said this is an opportunity for Vietnamese tourism businesses in general and Quang Ninh in particular to expand cooperation with Malaysia. In addition to tourism products and services on Ha Long Bay, the company also introduces tourism products on Bai Tu Long Bay to the guests, he said, adding that the results of the survey will help local travel businesses to build and update new products and services in line with the demand and post-pandemic trends of the Malaysian market.
