Three men accused of stealing casino chips at Sands
Three Filipino men were arrested in Singapore on Wednesday after allegedly stealing chips from gamers in a casino. Last Wednesday afternoon, the three suspects were arrested at Marina Bay Sands casino, Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported on Friday.
According to a preliminary police investigation, the trio allegedly collaborated to sneak chips away from customers at the gaming tables for five days, from January 13 to 17.
Cash of more than S$23,000 (US$17,400) and casino chips were seized from them during the arrest, police said.
The three men – identified as Celiz Jerwin Bernaldez, 35, Lazaro Floro Bumatay, 53, and De Los Reyes Ryan Dimaunahan, 31 – were charged in a court on Friday with abetment by conspiracy to commit theft.
If convicted, the men could be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.
