Quality of families determines nation’s success: VP

Banyuasin (ANTARA) – Families constitute a miniature of society and are the smallest unit that can determine the success of a nation, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has said.”Internally, families produce healthy generations. Externally, families build a great society and country,” he observed at the culmination of the 30th National Family Day (Harganas) commemoration event in Banyuasin district, South Sumatra, on Thursday. In his speech, Vice President Amin also said that the quality of the Indonesian society and nation depends on the quality of families. “Therefore, we (the government) hope that Indonesian families will become great families, contributing to efforts to make our nation great,” he pointed out. min also appealed to all families in Indonesia to continue to strengthen their role in producing stunting-free generations. He further said that strong families can raise and educate their children to become superior youths. “Remember, the first President Soekarno once said ‘Give me 10 youths, I will definitely shake the world.’ I do believe that Indonesian young generations are capable of making and achieving world-shaking works and achievements. One day, they will make Soekarno’s words come true,” he added. During the event, Amin presented the Satyalancana Pembangunan Award to South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru for his efforts to support the development of the country, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 43 of 2023 In addition, based on Presidential Decree No. 44 of 2023, he handed the Satyalancana Wira Karya Award to dozens of regional government leaders and other figures, including Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor. The award was given for their staunch devotion to the country, which has made them role models for others.
